💬 Quote of the week:
“Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years.”

Hi friends,
Since I was 17, I've always been a goals guy. At every point in time, I always had goals for that year. They were big goals by the way. Although I didn't achieve most of them, I set even bigger goals the next year.
In all my goal-setting, I was missing something important. Consistency!!! Let's take my business goals for instance. In 2020, I set a goal to start and grow my blog (I started the blog but later closed it). In 2021, I set a different goal to start and grow an e-commerce business (I started several websites but closed them all). In 2022, I set another different goal to start and grow a YouTube channel.
So although I was setting big goals and running with them, I didn't allow the power of the compound effect to play out in my life. An example of the power of compounding is Warren Buffet (aged 92). He started investing at age 11. But over 90% of his wealth came after his 65th birthday. (Let that sink in a little)
Imagine if I was still blogging, this would have been my 4th year in it and I would definitely have been profitable by now. I could still have started my YouTube channel after setting up systems to make the blog consistent.
I realized the power of compounding with the only goal I've been repeating every year since 2020: Finishing the Bible. The first year (2020) was tough but I completed it. The second year (2021) got easier. By year three (2022), I started noticing higher dimensions of wisdom. I was shocked at the explanations and advice I gave.
So I decided to take that approach this year. I chose to set goals that build off of what I did last year. Like growing my YouTube channel, and yes as you might have guessed already, finishing the Bible again as well. That's a yearly goal now till Jesus returns. 😅
In 2021, I had 24 goals. In 2022, I had 21 goals. This 2023, I have just 10 goals.
Have a great weekend.
