Let's jump in:
USA Careers That Are Future-Proof
Financial freedom is the major reason for getting a U.S. degree.
But, despite being a top dream of Africans, many international graduates are still jobless after getting their degrees. I didn’t know why some had jobs, and some didn’t. So, I took it upon myself to research to find out why - and see if I can find a list of USA careers that are future-proof.
Several hours later, here’s what I found:
The U.S. Government published a list of 20 occupations with the highest growth rate between 2023 and 2033.

Here are a few interesting data points from their research:
Computer and information research scientists have the highest annual salary of $145,080 with a growth rate of 26%.
Nurse practitioners have the second highest annual salary of $126,260 with a growth rate of 46%.
Information security analysts have the third highest annual salary of $120,360 with a growth rate of 33%.
Needless to say, my friends with high-paying jobs were in one of the occupations on this list.
So… what can we learn?
The 7 Best USA Careers That Will Always Be in Demand
From my research, we can group all the occupations into seven categories:
Medicine and Healthcare
Veterinary and Animal Care
Technology and Data Science
Public Health and Social Services
Therapy and Rehabilitation
Renewable Energy
Business, Finance, and Logistics
Study a course from this list, plus a high work ethic, and you get a strong combination for financial freedom.
Let’s expand each one:
Career 1: Medicine and Healthcare

Physician assistants
Medical and health services managers
Home health and personal care aides
Career 2: Veterinary and Animal Care

This lesson is not meant to discourage those without a similar undergraduate degree. Instead, it is to arm you with a weapon of knowing U.S. careers that will give you the financial freedom you want.
So, if you did not study any course in the 7 careers, can you find a related one and make plans to transition to it?
This is exactly what I did. My first degree was in Mathematics, but I have made the transition to Data Science (which is on the list).
You can also come to the US for any master’s degree. It should be whatever gives you a scholarship. You can then learn on your own or take classes to transition to a data science or nursing career, for example. The routes to transition are endless. It all starts with your decision to make the switch.
I hope this gives you a guide to use.
